ATRS Masterpiece - USMC M40A1

I know how it shoots to. First you get a guy to pick up the rifle, then place a round in the chamber. Now here is the important part, when he gets in a good shooting position, he places his finger on the trigger and starts to pull. Now when the trigger breaks the firing pin strikes the primer of the round. This causes the powder in the round to ignite and send the bullet down the barrel of said rifle. This is how the rifle shoots....I own one, they shoot good. :) Bullets all go in the same place.

Get back to work smart arse, I am sure you have someone to that needs a beating.
And come by and pick up your new toy before I make it into a paperweight.

Just waiting for the word that I can take it. And trust me man, your gun will shoot. While I was working up loads for my ATR rifle, the absolute worst it would shoot was .65 . Got the targets to prove it. It will eat whatever you throw at it. Enjoy.

Very nice build, I'm not a huge fan of woodlands, but whatever floats your boat:)

Its a classic camo and it doesn't hurt that a US Marine carried this actual stock in combat and smoked God knows how many bad guys :sniper:

Was kinda thinking I shoulda kept the paint job on it but its nice to start fresh with my own build. The bottom metal trigger guard was polished from use.

Thanks Wayne! Any chance me and a couple guys could come out your way to blast some gophers? I'd love to do a roadtrip out that way this summer. Speaking of which you coming out for the service rifle and sniper meet?

Should be a good year for rodents, I am already up to 37 confirmed kills and that is just with the truck.
If you make it out east, give me some notice and I will try to hook you up in long range rodent county:D

Took it out to the range yesterday and so far I'm pretty pleased with the rifle. Did the 20 round Gun Juice treatment as per Rick and used FGMM 168's to shoot this 5 shot 100m group. Kinda rusty and its a new rifle to me so it can only get better from here - the dot is 2"

We "mistify" :evil:the rodents with 338s and 50s so your 308 will NOT be an issue.:D
Try some 175 gr SMKs in that there rifle, that is what the chamber was specifically cut for. The 168s will work, just not quite as well.

And I am guessing it is an identical chamber as mine so 175 smk's, 175 bergers or 178 amax's will shoot way better. PM me if you want some load data. I kept everything as I sure rick has as well, but I can give you some good starting points for your hand loads. And Rick, make sure to tell me when you are going to kill things...you know how I am about stuff like that.

Its the M852 chamber and yeah 175 SMK is all I shoot. Didn't have any loaded up so I just grabbed the box of factory 168's that I had. The main reason I went was to Gun Juice the barrel and torch off some rounds. Now comes the fun part - developing a load. I use IMR4895 as my powder (keep it simple for all my rifles), BR2 primer and Winchester brass. The load that worked well for my other M40 was 43.4gr and it shot 5 in one hole @ 100m.

Now for the extermination of fuzzies I'll let you guys know this summer when we'll be coming out for a little fun. How about an ATRS summer BBQ with blasting all day?
