ATRS Modern hunter specs, pics and range reports

Nice rifle Mopar. When you get it would you mind posting some inside the rail picks showing what clearance the gas block your new one has inside the fortis. My first run is tight and I'm wondering if they have a lower profile gas block now.

I have an nxs 2.5x10x42 on mine. Don't think you will be disappointed with an nxs.

I managed to squeeze out a few 3rnd groups to see where to start...

168SMK + N150. The varget groups opened up like a football field so I think I'll go back with the N150 and try 5r groups.

Will do, i have the 14" Fortis. I'll get some pics for you.

Thats interesting that your groups opened up with Varget. I would not have thought that just powder brand would make that much difference. My buddy shoots 4895 in his hunter with 168SMKs and has better groups than I get from mine. I use Varget. Seems like a change of powder is worth trying?

I found a bunch of AR10 loads online... Looks quite the variety, although H4895 seems to be a repeating offender for good accuracy. Might give that a try:

This was shot in the pouring rain today 3°C
200Gr ELD-X According to Range buddy... that's 0.77MOA .... Yaaay![/QUOTE]

Nice-that's pretty darn good! What kind of velocities are you getting?

I'll Chrono next time. I haven't been a huge fan of chasing speed because I only have 100yds to shoot ... A distance at which speed/trajectory barely makes a difference.

Fair enough, would be good to know for when you get to stretch her legs though :)

Had a look at Range buddy too, looks kind of handy. See theres a product called Gun Log SPC too - you pretty happy with Range buddy?

It's pretty handy for my use. Im not nearly half as hardcore as most on this thread so my bar may be a tad lower lol

I've been working up to heavier projectiles as well, seems to like 185's, maybe I'll try some 200's next!

All those other groups in the photos were a mix of 168SMKs, 178Amax and 200 ELDX. The 200 shot the best. For now I'm going to assume my proof barel likes the heavies and I'll continue with those.
