ATRS Modern Sporter - Nov 30th : New video, Post 482

Just a quick update, I'll see about snapping some pictures tomorrow but we are well on the way into "op 3". After op 3 the lowers could fully function as a single shot receiver as the only thing left for "op 4" is cutting out the mag well, then they are tumbled, blasted, and anodize. Anybody else getting excited for these things??!

Quick question for ATRS - would an offset buffer retainer pin be a good or bad idea for the attachment system the receiver set uses?

Non-R frt ? Me won't

That's at your discretion.... Unless you're saying "Me want". We do not have an opinion from the RCMP in the form of an FRT entry at this time. However, it is a direct descendant of the Modern Varmint and adheres to all non-restricted criteria.

I'm late to the party and did not see the caliber for this set - is it 223/556? Are they di ?

Also I'm assuming the sets are all sold already ?

Thanks for the help brothers

Not sold out yet, but not a whole lot left in the first batch either.

Not necessary as we've changed the orientation of the tapered pin system in the Modern Varmint, basically picture in your mind a 'fixed in place' rear takedown pin that doesn't move and has a little different location. Or come by the shop and check one out and no need to imagine anything.

You have to buy a lower parts kit anyways.

Not to be rude, but don’t answer if you don’t know. I have made an LPK from separate parts, no point in having all the milspec stuff if you’re replacing 80% or more of it with “better” parts. I didn’t think I needed takedown pins but now I’m obviously not sure about the front one.

Just curious, can you guys say how many lowers your cutting all together? I saw the number 70 written on one lower receiver in the photos.

Pardon this probably stupid and already answered question; how do i make an order and get on dat list?

Not a stupid question at all, send us an email to info@albertatacticalrifle.com and we'll get back to you with all the details and start an invoice.

Is the front takedown pin, spring, and detent included then?

No the front takedown pin, spring and detent are not included, but they are standard parts so easily sourced. In our demo gun we're just using a plain jane mil-spec one.

I can't say exactly how many we're doing in the first batch, I know we have increased the number to somewhere in the range of 175'ish or there abouts. We are, and always have been a small shop focused first and foremost on top quality and we know our limitations... We don't have the capacity to do batches of a thousand at a time, it would really slow everything down. Large enough batches to keep the human costs of machine change overs down, but small enough that there's actually product being made on a reasonable time table.

Will there be an option to have them cerekote'd in different colors prior to shipping/pick up? Or is that something we'd have to have done later?
Just thinking of time consumption I can understand if they are all just black in an effort to get as many out the door as quickly as possible at least for the first batch.

I'll be buying a set, just convincing myself not to wait for the NR FRT.

Not a problem at all to cerakote, as long as it's a colour we stock it would be $200 to do it before we ship out. https://albertatacticalrifle.com/hi...sting/product/75-cerakote/category_pathway-47
