ATRS Modern Sporter - Nov 30th : New video, Post 482

Just a reminder to anyone with a Modern Sporter on order that tomorrow Friday Nov 23rd 2018 at NOON, 1200 hours is the cut off to get in for the deal on the JP buffer system. The deal we worked out with JP is a one time only thing.

If we don't have them by January and the only holdup is that the anodizers are on holidays, I think we'll be super happy with that, knowing that's the only holdup at that point.

We are optomistic. The only variable at this point is the anodizing, the folks we use tend to take a fair bit of December off for the holidays.

Well let’s hope they can get it done before Xmas, as I was looking forward to doing some shooting over the holidays.
And would even be willing to pay extra shipping, to get it faster:)

But , it is what it is.

Somebody needs coal in their stocking...lol.

Just a side note, and I know the scrap is worth money but it would be super cool to have the left over slab of the billet from the lower as a paperweight.

Unfortunately by the time we find a part is "scrap" they are well into becoming a useful part and would be deemed minimally an 80% lower. Since we started making billet lowers in 2008 there has been precisely 1 block that could have been used as a paperweight. We took it to several gun shows to show the basics of the process but at some point is vanished never to be found. Since that time we have continually improved and modified our machine processes so it is not until the lowers are about 90% done that we find any imperfections. Fortunately they are extremely rare as the individual billet is worth very close to $100.00 before a tool is touched to it.

I think they figure the lower is cut out of a chunk and there’s a piece of aluminum with a negative of the lower in it. Like if you cut the part out on a bandsaw.
