Not trolling and hopefully the OP doesn't get offended by a slight derail.
Have you guys done much in the way of true ultralights? I'm always looking for whats available in this area as options are quite limited. And can carbon barrels be done with a light interior sleeve to finish at more of a sporter contour, or do they need to be built to varmint profile?
Although we do not specialize in ultra lite rifles we have built some. Proof does offer what they call a "Sendero light" profile that is more slender and slightly lighter, but it is still .800" at the muzzle, where a #2 conventional barrel is closer to .600" and just an ounce or 2 lighter, BUT you give up the repeat-ability of POI with repeated shots fired in succession.
Like all tools they can be tailored to a specific task, with pros and cons.
