Well, it's been a bit of a process (something I know you are all familiar with).

After all the courses, purchases, and paperwork, I was finally able to take my gun (Beretta U22 Neos) to the range and do some shooting.

It was a buzz. Some real friendly folks there, and got to try out a few of their guns and they mine. Tried a Uberti Colt 45 Replica, a Springfield Armory 1911 45ACP, and a 455 Webley. They had a nice punch to them. The U22 was real nice to shoot. Felt good in the hands and very balanced.

So, even though it seems like a lot of effort to get everything in order, it was well worth it. Looking forward to more shooting (and hopefully some more guns ;)

With all of the hoops that have to be jumped through to get to that point, that first range trip feels pretty sweet. Congrats.

hey good on the range day, I have a Neos for my first restricted, and there was a bit of excitment of going out and making sure I had everything. How does the gun shoot.

Good to hear from you.

Your Neos new?
Bought mine used and I doubt you will not be disappointed for getting one. They last a long time and shoot every cheap ammo I can find.

I am new to shooting and started with a .22LR autoloader pistol, cheap to shoot and maintain, the only downside for me is that at >10 Meters I can't see where they are hitting. I tried shooting clays (trap shooting) on the ground and found that a lot easier because even if you miss you can see where the dirt kicks up.
I now have .22 .36 .44 .45 what is next????:D

You could try some hi-vis type targets, they are easier to see what you hit from a distance. They are expensive, but fun to use. My avatar has a pic of one.

Ya, the whole outing was a buzz.

The Neos shoots great. Being a newbie, I could still get the majority of shots close to center(and by close, I mean like 4 inches or so. I'm just starting out, so have lots to learn and technique and such). I was shooting Federal Champions, and no problems. $29 for 525 rounds at Walmart.

I like the way the Neos feels. Mag release is great, and you can pretty quickly eject and pop the next one in. Gun has a real positive feel to it.

Yah another handgunner! Welcome to the fold, never leave and introduce as many first time shooters as you can to the sport.

I remember last spring when I had 250 rounds of 45 ACP and a Norinco in my locker for two and a half months waiting for my ATT! God that was awful. After I got my ATT I took a beautiful May Friday off of work and hit the range at 10am with a Tim Hortons Coffee and a Bagel Belt. I was the only one there and I developed a HUGE flinch that my long trigger pull Norky 1911 revealed to me. :D

Good times!

Nothing worse than the ATT wait with a gun in the safe and some ammo. You can only dry fire and clean an unused gun so many times. :)

I just purchased a stainless Ruger Mk III last Saturday, and the transfer wait is painful.

Fingers crossed it will be available this week.......

ATT course at the range next weekend, and then back to waiting..........

for me it was fax wait 1 day wow its here already :p

I had to replace it since it turned into a ball since it was in my wallet.. I called and they phoned back and was like ahh you can't take your guns out till the new one arrives.. I was like but I have the ball :p

That was for a replacement, but the OP was talking about getting the first LTATT. Was your original one faxed to you that quickly? Have to be snail mailed to the club in Ont, but I think they will fax you a replacement and they will also fax temp ATTs.

I'm going through ATT wait HELL right now, trying to get my club to hold an ATT course. I have to wait until next week just to find out when they think they want to hold one. I say RIGHT NOW!!!! I haven't even put the ball in the government's court yet, and I'm already waiting too long. My gun should arrive this week or next, after that the waiting is going to be brutal!

I don't understand why an att has to be sent to the range secretary and then forwarded to the recipient from there.... Why don't they send it directly to the person applying. And why is it some people get theirs sent via fax and others have to wait for snail mail
