I currently own an H&K USP Tactical .45 and have had it for a year or two and just recently I have been thinking of upgrading to the MARK23. I would use my USP Tactical .45 as a trade in, but would probally have to put down an extra $1,400.00 on top of the trade in:eek: . (I could by a whole new f*ck'n gun for that)

My question is...I was wondering if there is any "little corks" the MARK 23 has. Like with my USP Tactical I've had a little problem with the slide not locking back after the last round. This didn't happen at first but after many, many visits to the range it occured. Its because the mag spring got a little "worked in" and didn't have enough pressure to push the slide lock up. I even ordered new extra-pressure spings from Wolffs Spring Manuf. and after a while the same thing!. I have talked to several other H&K USP Tactical owners and they have told me that they had the same problem.

I am still very pleased with the USP Tactical but have been itch'n to cop the SOCOM .45. I want my hands wrapped around the MARK 23. Can you guys tell me what you like/dislike about this pistol. Does it have any "corks" I should know about?

I know it shoot groupings tighter than a virgin on her prom night, but so does my Tactical .45 Auto.

Any feedback both positive and negative (If even possible) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot,
Pietro.

i own a used mk 23. paid 1600 for it couple months back, so paying 1400 on top of trading in ur tac is a total rip.

i love this pistol, i shoot about 4 inch groups with my beretta 92g-sd (i suck i know) but with this bad boy i shoot 2 inch groups no problem.

the pistol is just huge, almost as big as a DEagle but built solid. the finish on it is tough and can withstand lots of abuse. replacement parts are a ##### to find. took me 2 months to get a safariland leg rig for it. almost no accesories availiable either.

in all, i really enjoy owning this pistol dispite some minor complaints. its a blast to shoot

hope this helps

No quirks with mine either. It shoots great and is a blast to shoot. The only problem I can think of is a lack of readily available accessories, they're out there, you just have to search a bit for them. The dimensions are very close to my Desert Eagle, but a hell of a lot lighter. My Mark 23 fits in all of my nylon DE holsters.

They are huge. Hope you have big hands! much prefer the USP.
The grip is the same size as the regular USP45. The gun is long and kind of bulky but it is not heavy (weights about as much as a gov't model 1911).

P.S. I agree with azn-hitman. If you’re paying $1400 to trade up to a Mark23 you are being ripped off. The price difference between the two is in the $500-600 range. Even if you're trading a used tactical for a new Mark23, it's a crappy deal. Unless your Tac is absolutely trashed, there's no reason why it should have depreciated that much.
