Howdy everyone, I have a question regarding ATT's and interprovincial transportation.

I currently live in Sioux Lookout Ontario, however my kids (and all my friends) live in Winnipeg Manitoba. I currently go back and forth 2 weeks in Sioux and 2 weeks in Winnipeg, so I would also like to take my pistol along and go shooting in both places. Having read through the 15 page thread on ATT's I read that the Western provinces have an agreement to allow 1 ATT to be valid throughout. Now is there a way to use 1 ATT between Ontario and Manitoba? Or would I need 2 Att's?

I would apply for a LTATT for ontario and ask that manitoba be addedto it, I would also provide proof of being a member to a gun club in both provinces as part of the application process if you want it to go thru easy....

if not then your going to be screwed. Manitoba also has an Defensive Pistol league so you might join them and they would give you an ATT that covers both.

also what I would do is start filing fo short term ATT's RIGHT AWAY so you can show a history of going back and forth.... even if you do not use them they will still build a history.

No longer true, hasn't been for a couple of years now since the CFO's changed their "policy". However, it is not the law.

Bit of a thread revival, but I finally got this sorted out through the Ontario CFO office.

So here's the thing, my LTATT is good for any club in Ontario, but only specific ones in Manitoba. To do this, I had to fax a copy of my Membership cards with the details of any pistols I might take to this range, and viola it was done and issued.
