I am sorry if this has been talked about, did a search to no avail.

my question in I applied for my ATT a few days ago and was just curious how long the wait is, does it depend on what club you belong too? or is it a first come first serve thing?

I have seen the treads about the transfer time but those did not really help (by the way well done to wolverine for 1 week AR to ontario)

thanks for all you input

just want to have fun with my new toy

Long term ATT took me 4 days to get.

Short term ATT, it's in my email inbox before I hang up the phone.

That's nice guys but seeing as he's in Ontario, it really isn't relevant.

If you mean your long-term ATT, the wait is going to depend on how often your club forwards the applications and how long it takes them to tell you they are in. (at least at my club the ATT's go to the club and I have to pick them up there)

Took four weeks to get mine... It was three weeks of waiting for it to process over christmas, and a week before I discovered that they send it to the range, not to you.

I asked the secretary at our range and she said we had to sign a form to acknowlege you have taken possesion of the ATT. That may be specific to my club, but give yours a club to see if it arrived yet.

time

To get a short term ATT, I get mine in 5 minutes as soon the CFO gets the info. She gives the me ATT number and I dont even bother with the Fax copy.

To get a long term ATT, it takes the CFO 8 days to mail it out to me, and they are now for a three year period..........and the ATT is connected to my home club.

The trick is to leave the question where it asks you where you are going to be taking your restricted firearms to, blank. Leave it blank, and you can take it almost anywhere.

I faxed mine in and just wrote on the top of the form "Email to following address:" Had an electronic copy in about 5 minutes.

Does the Ontario CFO take a while to issue one by mail? I ordered a gun from some one in Ontario and he's saying he's waiting to get the ATT.

zum97 - Are you referring to your target shooting ATT? When you said you had applied for your ATT, you mean that the club secreatry has the application? If the club sends the application in promptly, the ATT will be sent back to the club promptly. Hopefully the club will then get it to you promptly. Should not take long.
harbl - the transfer ATT is issued at the same time as the transfer authorization.
smartbomb - zum97 is in ON; ON ATTs have standard wording on them. Leaving that space blank won't make any difference - unless the application is bounced back as being incomplete.

Put in for a long term ATT before Christmas in BC, I think the 20th. I called today to follow up as I faxed it in and you can never be really sure it gets there.

Anyway they called me back in under 5 minutes, and it was processed yesterday, that's with Christmas and the snow dump in the lower mainland and people cound't get in.

Very impressed, very friendly, I was thinking I might get a call back in a week, LOL
