With the new changes to the ATT rules I am stuck awaiting my new pistol.

Transfer was approved thursday last week, seller has not been able to get through to the RCMP to get an ATT to take the pistol to the post office. So we wait.

Sorry...rant over

On a related note I was talking to a friend over the weekend about an interesting subject. Once a pistol has been sold and transfer approved, how long does the seller have to ship the firearm since it is not longer registered to them? I am not talking mal-intent, more like away for holidays, or sick, or busy....list goes on.

thoughts?

Not to mention the changes to the ATT have no bearing on your situation.

Transporting a pistol not registered to you was never covered by the ATT.

Ya I've been calling the ON CFO about 30 times per day. Can't get through, not even on hold....just says call back later.

Guess they're getting a zillion calls about the ATT changes recently.

Each provincial CFO has an email address. Several threads over past couple of years about the subject. Search function.

Getting the firearm was no problem for me but I am going on three weeks on waiting for my registration so I can take said firearm to the range. Anyone have any thoughts on similar experience to that?

My thoughts on that CocoMelon - not to be construed as legal advice.

I always ask for an e-mail copy of the registration certificate once the transfer of a restricted has been completed. You’ll get that right away. I print that , trim off impertinent parts ( because it’s an image of the entire e-mail ) , laminate and put in my range bag. I also keep the e-mailed versions organized into a file that is easily accessible on my phone so I can show that without having to dig too much out of the vehicle , if necessary.

I never transport the original copy that comes weeks after the fact. It stays in a safe with other important documents.

What? Really? I thought they had to send the piece of mail with the small square registration to take to the range. And that it is now mandatory to wait for that small squared piece of paper???

Please show us the email copy of a reg cert.

X2
Always needed ATT to take to post office, nothing changed there.
I usually email the ATT request, sometimes it's fast....same or next day, sometimes it's slow...up to 2 weeks.
Being middle of summer, holidays etc, probably a slow time.
