What kind of adapter do I need to install my Harris bipod to my M-4 style AR-15?
Do I need to drill hole in the underside of my handguard, or what? I don't have any
rails at the mo'--it's all completely stock.

Can you believe it? The word 'bipod' is not in my spellchecker!
'biped' is, and so is 'iPod' (!) but not BIPOD. wtf?

.

you need to install a rail under your stock no drill need

a lot of model and price

i guest you must have this model?

No need to get a rail and an adapter.

Harris makes an adapter that fits perfectly inside an AR15 handguard. Adapter #5.

Had one on my 20" AR back in the day - works PERFECTLY. Also used one and inlet it into an M14 stock.. worked there as well.

$20 and you're set. Got mine at Wholesale Sports. The setup ^^^ would run you over $100 easy. :)

You're welcome.

As said....no need for a rail...there is a bipod adaptor that fits perfectly through any of.the holes on the underside

no need of rail but if you want to put grip lamp or bipod allway cool to have a rail this is my setup...

Yeah, I saw that pic on the WS site last night, identified as "#5" with the warning, "may not be as shown".
Are you sure that's the one to fit the AR? The handguard is round, yet that thing is flat!
Are we expected to bend it to conform to the handguard's contour?

I'm making a trip up to our local WS in an hour or so. Their site says none in stock online, but one in Nanaimo (if it's to be trusted)...
I'll get back to yous later on.

The flat bar sits inside the handguard - the only thing that sticks out below the handguard is the stud.

If you have 'standard' AR handguards - YES it will fit. At least it did for everyone else who had tried it. :)

The swivel comes off. Your bipod attaches to the stud. I misspoke before - the large bar is inside the handguard - the small short one is on the outside, in the flat groove on the bottom of the handguard.

I got one.

Thx guys,
I phoned Whorsey Sports and they had one #5 on hand, so I went and picked it up and had it installed by this afternoon.
It's all good. It was the pic that had me confused cos they show the 'perforated flange' sitting at right angles, wheras in life it runs
longitudinally, in line with the handguard, not laterally, across the barrel.
I didn't need any tools to remove the bottom half of the handguard--- I just placed the butt on the floor, encircled the delta ring with
both hands and pressed down. Then I wedged my small screw driver (OK, one tool) into the seam between the upper and lower parts,
and the lower just popped off. I used a dab of blue Loctite on the stud's threads. After I installed the fitting, it all went back together
nice and tight.
That's it. I'm good to go for the range tomorrow--and we'll see how she likes shooting from a bipod.
Thanks again for your guidance!
'It's great to be a 'nutter'!

We have enough gun control. What we need is more idiot control.
