I was fiddling around with my Mec 600 Jr. the other day. I put in a new powder bushing and sliding the charge bar was quite stiff.

I pulled down on the handle with one hand and held it there while I was inspecting things then started sliding the charge bar back and forth.

It was really stiff doing it with 1 hand. After 2 or 3 minutes of this I thought to myself "Durrr what an idiot you are! Use 2 hands!" so I let go of the handle and WHAP:owned: it sprung up and socked me in the chin. I haven't been able to chew food in 2 days my jaw hurts so bad.

I didn't get hit, but it was close............and more than once. Glad to hear that I am not the only one. Since its happened more than once, it seems the only way I will learn, is to get hit :bangHead:
 
Don't worry about it. It's only stupid if you do it twice, unless it's a handgrenade. ;) $hit happens, anything that doesn't cause permanent damage is a learning experience. I've had so many learning experiences I must be a really smart guy by now.
 
ive done worse on my mec ive had the priming punch slam on my thumb on more then one occasion and almost every time its did some good damage

ive also had the deprime punch go into my finger through the nail not fun
