Hi

I few days ago I received my tracking number for my NOS garand barrel. I looked up the tracking number via Canada post and saw it was in customs (Dec 1). So in order to expedite the situation (having fears of the barrel being possibly sent back or seized) I called Canada customs to see if I can find out about my package.

Canada Customs international 1 800 267 1177, it's a warehouse, so just leave a message they will call you back.

The issues they have seen are as follows:

Eligible or wrong or missing critical info on the mailing address (some address have only the city on them).

The usual issues like improper declaration, (Machine parts, these get xray'd when they come in to Canada) and of course improper declaration amount.

Other issues are some parts are for MG's are coming into Canada.

Call if you have a tracking number, 1 800 267 1177 listen to the whole message and at the end there is an option to leave a message.

After all of this my NOS barrel is released to Canada Post.

Wow!!

I'm lucky I got my barrel then! I picked it up from the post office last Wednesday. I just went & looked at my packaging that came with it. The Greek customs declaration sticker is half missing & says "Mechanical Part" & he wrote the Value as 30!! Hopefully someone forwards this information to him, so parts can be correctly declared & we don't loose a good source of NOS barrels!.

My bolt has been there since 21 November. I called, they claimed they didn't have it. So they passed me to an answering machine and I left a message. That was last week, no call back yet.

Same here since nov 29, custom kept my second bolt from redfile3 on ebay.....

And its looks like antartics2 and redfile3 is the same guy... Ordered 2 diffents parts from them... Received the exact same shipping number................ .!?!

One should inform seller's that Canadian Custom's Duty and Taxes are very reasonable on US products and most other products. The Crown wants their cut. When they see the same seller sending the same product to different buyer's with different valuation's for it, they flag it. Then you have an issue, even if you had nothing to do with it. They can and will keep it, if they want.

This is what Constantine responded regarding the situation---
End of the year.there are a lot of delays and huge lots in the post, and items are held up for around 60 days.last year the same happened, all packages reached with delays.this time I sent few hundred packets to Canada November December.out of these 13 are held up somewhere in Canada all have passed through customs and are on their way,but not reaching yet.none are held up in the border as I check the postal tracking.tell them this.I declare them as they are ‘spare parts’ nothing hidden.

Thanks for info, but I do whatever possible.now I am tracking them through the post office....post this if possible.

Regards,

Constabtine

My garand bolt has been "sent for further processing" since November 5th. Constantine has been no help to me after many emails. I'm just assuming it's lost and I will never see it.

Some of the stuff he sends is not physically sent by him. The barrels typically come from another person and shipped on his behalf. Almost like drop shipping but on a smaller scale. The small stuff usually comes from constantine himself. Once its landed here in canada no one but the feds have control over where it goes next, so no constantine nor the other shipper are going to have any clout in regards to its release. The worst case is its seized and destroyed without compensation and yeah they can do that.

I've always found him to be very reliable and helpful. A couple of yrs ago I had a NOS M1903 barrel from him go into "limbo" for about 4 months, incl making it to my postal outlet about 800 yds away and then being returned to him as "undeliverable" !!!! He confirmed that he got it back and then re-sent it to me. Thankfully my ever- helpful CPost agent got it done the next time.

I recieved my barrel from Constantine in 2 weeks from the time i ordered and picked up my bolt tonight that i ordered 9 days ago. The comunication has been good between us and happy with the items. Thats how my purchases went. I feel for you guys waiting, and hope it comes to you.

I received my bolt today that I ordered on December 15. It was marked as "Spare Parts". I believe he ships them, but it is the luck of the draw if it gets by customs.

Ordered a bolt and barrel from him at different times. bolt took close to a month, barrel was less than 3 weeks with no issues. barrel was marked as mechanical part.

Just watch the show "Border Security" and you will see that they x-ray everything that comes into Canada and open packages that they deem suspicious. I wouldn't be surprised if every barrel and bolt were opened by customs agents, unless declared properly which then they will see it on their screen. Then they probably throw it on a pallet for someone else to look at, who would be back-logged because of all the other packages that are deemed "suspicious".
