Attention Browning Hi Power collectors!

I don't think that the plastic mag base plate is original. It's fairly easy fix though.
I'm going to keep this pistol for a while, but most likely it will be back on EE one day.
I'm not much of collector myself.
Who knows?
It should be worth something, so maybe a decent trade...we will see.

Your correct, it's an aftermarket mag, doesn't affect the value though.

Mine is nowhere near as pretty as yours, even if it is a 1976 with the adjustable sights. My wooden grips are long gone (or long lost). But, the estimates you are being quoted are maybe 3 times the long ago retail price. It is a nice gun, but after forty odd years its investment value might not be as impressive as some might think.

(Steel mag bases with a little round button to strip.)

What I've noticed over the last few years is that is still possible to make money on the used guns, but You need to know the market VERY well (pricing and demand), have a bit of luck to find the right deal and the right buyer.
I was even able to find here on EE, what appears to be impossible to find or own under our regulations. It's perfectly legal though.
Again, luck was on my side back then and I'll keep this item till my very last day...it has a very special, sentimental value for me.
So, the bottom line is that the guns MAY be a good investment, but only if You can keep your head cool and know your stuff.
