Hey dude.Look what I did to your bolt today :)
new209.jpg

Hope you like it.First I trimmed down the old knob.I didn't just cut it off like some folks do.Then I shaped the shaft round and threaded it.Then I turned up a knob, gnurled it and parted it off. Then I threaded it and screwed it on.Then it gets welded on and the welds get tapered in to the rest of the handle.Next is bead blasting and finally it gets parkerized. It will all be finished with duracoat after we are done with the rest of your rifle. Here are a few others that I've done. The tan one is what it will look like after it's all painted up.The one on the right is obviously what it looked like originally.

sheeeeit I didn't know Longshot knew how to use a machine. I bet he's full of it, and I bet Grens did it for him.

Longshot did indeed do all the work minus the welding(only cause I have not shown him how yet), but I would say he is doing a fine job so far considering he has about 5 hrs training on a lathe he is a quick learner.(my new evil aprentice)

Looks great Longshot! Thanks :)

PS... about time you started using the tools there instead of chatting up the movies hotties all day ;) Maybe GrensVegter can have a turn with the hotties now?

Thanks!Duracoat holds up quite well actually.I didn't paint the whole bolt, only the knob, handle and shroud. The rest is just parkerized. We have a very strong parkerizing solution and it seems to take to non bead blasted/shiny surfaces pretty well.
The knurling is pretty easy once its set up.It's just takes a few passes that's all.

I got a badger before I knew there were better options out there. Now I know who I'll come crying to to make me a new one once I bust it. ;)
