Attention Hunters Jim Shockey has an important message

Would have been better without the clips of the lisssping ssslithering ssserpent tongued ssssleezebag. Why broadcast turd propaganda ?

Die for the turd? Drama Queen much.

If the oic had just been for AR's ole Jim would be happy to stay on the sidelines. Good to see the fudds waking up.

Not so sure about that. Jim has been fairly vocal in the past speaking against proposed firearms bans, saying sport shooters and hunters need to unite.

Agreed. Video was just fine, he was relating how it affects him personally and his firearms, rather than attempting to reach and posture falsely with a Stag 10 he’s never hunted with and likely doesn’t own. Seems like an honest and quick 2 minute personal opinion video rather than an organized media campaign, and that’s fair. His 2 minute video has more pull than any griping done on the entirety of this forum.

As for his political opinions, they’re his and I respect that. Doesn’t seem to me to be a ringing endorsement of Trudeau, he simply expressed respect for the Canadian electoral process not the man. We have to be careful snowflakes of our own aren’t popping up on our own side. ;)

IMHO, I think Ardent nailed it with this post.

I think Shockey is demonstrating that nobodies guns are safe, and bad laws are simply bad. The powerful African hunting rifles that got caught up in th 10K joules thing was clearly unintended by Blair and Justin, but they haven't made any move to create an exemption and I don't expect they will.

Also I' pretty sure Shockey knows his way around an AR15, and likely owns one or two.

Shockey is a man of money and opportunities. And that is it. IMO.

He did more damage to wildlife and hunter's reputation than anybody else. Even Arden can't change that since being on the same track.

Angus,

on that one i have to disagree: for a while Jim complained about the shows in USA cancelled about an AR15 campaign that was done after sandy hook and how efficient and useful was the ar15 for US hunters but when it come to Canada no battle from our high well listenned speakers ...

Respect that take Phil and your opinion on it. I do feel this is a video I could show to a yuppy pilot at work who lives in a condominium somewhere expensive, and that they would see it as approachable and reasonable.

Better two minutes of a well spoken face calmly saying “this doesn’t make sense, and here’s an example to relate that” than a 20 minute lecture on firearms design, statistics, and minutia that nobody but a small portion of CGN would actually watch through or pay attention to. The public relations media for resisting this OIC needs to be simple, clean, and relatable if it will get any traction. My personal feel is, this is. :)

you re right too Angus. that is a calm approach but not the he used in the USA ...

Not everyone is ready for Ted Nugent.

the last time I paid any attention to ted nugent he was on a wild tv program..... gotta be over 10 years ago now.
He was taking seriously disabled people out hunting an was involved in paying for the custom made wheel chairs and shooting aids some of the hunters required.
One of the was a was vet who lost his arms at the elbows and they made a rifle rest on the truck bed with wheelchair lift and the guy looked thru the scope and pulled the trigger by biting down. The other was a young kid, 10 or 12 years old. He was in his final months of life from a incurable cancer or blood disorder. His wish was to hunt birds at least once before he passed away.
Ted Nugents music is a decade before my teen years so never really got into it but whenever I hear about ted nugent it reminds me of those disabled hunters.

+1.

Two mild criticisms:

First: a fence sitter might think Jim is only upset because his classic English double got lumped in with the more dangerous "assault style rifles" which were justifiably banned.

His focus doesn't convince the uninformed that pubic safety will remain unaffected -- only that there's an injustice of specific benign firearms getting caught in the net.

Jim's other mistake was saying that he would die for Trudeau. It's a bizarre statement that is at odds with the rest of the gun community -- not only is it divisive to gun owners who are fairly unanimous in their contempt for Trudeau, but it turns a blind eye to the corruption, deceit, incompetence, and underhandedness of the Liberals' regime under him.

Ardent makes the only possible defense of the statement -- that it shows respect for the electoral process.

However there must be two components of respect in this regard: respect for the office and respect for the individual that holds it. The respect Trudeau has lost as a man far outweighs the respect he automatically gets for being PM.

To further illustrate that duality, imagine meeting a genocidal dictator. Would you pay him respect because as the leader of a sovereign nation he is entitled to it?

All that being said, Jim still gets a weak pass because in the end he meant well. But the next time he delivers such an important message he should put some effort into polishing it up a little better.

So why don't we put together a video that is relevant and we can relate to the general public who have been subject to the lies from lieberal stink tank? Let's figure this out. Let's counter their blatant BS with the RCMP's facts and figures, as well as the politicians polished silver tongue lies.
