This is something in the nature of an unusual request. There's a gentleman in Cardigan PEI who has a sweet deal on a rifle but he'll only do local pick up, no shipping. Is there a kind soul in the Cardigan area who will pick up the rifle on my behalf and ship it to Toronto? Needless to say, all charges are on me. PM me or let me know. Thank you.

I know of a gun nutz member who got banned for similar transactions a few years ago... and it was all on the up and up - federally legal but CGN didn't think so.

I wish you luck. I had this happen last year and missed out on a dream rifle for a smoken deal because he just wouldn’t ship. Someone else picked it up then flipped it for almost retail :(.

I don’t get it, you post a rifle for sale on a national forum and don’t wanna ship it? you post a rifle for sale you don’t include photos but you tell people you don’t wanna send photos unless they are really serious about buying the gun?
Anyway good luck with your enquiry!

To all of you who were kind enough to respond and share your experiences and insights, THANK YOU! It's folks like you who make this community so enjoyable. To expand on the thread, the rifle in question was a Howa 1500 .308 in a synthetic stock. I have exactly the same rifle in 7.62X39 and it's dead-nuts accurate with my hand loads and I'd hoped to pick up the match in .308. Since posting, I've done some research on other rifles for sale and just pulled the trigger (so to speak) on a deal for a .308 Ruger Predator with the muzzle brake for $800. all in. I have good rings and Redfield Revenge looking for place to roost so I think the pairing will hopefully shoot well and put some venison on the table this fall.
