Attn; Chilliwack and area BCRA Tactical rifle shooters

Not much of an aiming point when you do it that way.I prefer to have the chin and wrist as familiar points of aim at these matches.
Does anyone know the Accupro guy in Langley?I know he used to have fig.11's and 12's for sale.
 
got ahold of Accupro on Friday, should hear something on Monday, possibly some donations as well.
the reason I posted here was to see if anyone had a cheaper source than what we have through the BCRA. Not slagging the BCRA as they don't make any money on selling us targets, just wanted to see if we could get them cheaper, as that would benefit us and the BCRA too. I guess not. Not a big deal, I just liked the idea of everyone being able to see their targets at the end of the match, instead the military ones will probably be used the normal way as we've done in the past. No big deal.
 
For next year if there would be an added cost for the targets so that we can keep all of them, I have no problem with that.

I like being able to keep my targets for review and future reference......

The BCRA is supplying targets, but we have to patch them between relays. I am expecting 60 shooters on the line come Saturday, so if you do the math,

Figure 12c appears in two relays, so we will need 120 of them.
Figure 11 appears in two relays, so we will need 120 of them
Figure 14 appears in two relays, so we will need 120 of them too.

That's 360 targets we will need if we want to only have one shooter on them, even if we could get them at $2 a piece that's still $720 just in paper. We'll see what we can work out next year.
 
yeah I should explain this was all my idea, and yes the BCRA is supplying targets for the match. BUT, one of the biggest complaints has always been on scoring. IF we could get the targets for cheap enough we could supply everyone with individual targets, no patching and re-using, that way everyone could verify their own targets after they were scored. But as Mike points out, that's a lot of money at current costs for targets. Again, this is not the BCRA's fault or anything like that, it's just that the targets are friggin expensive. As those who've shot the match know, the non military targets are kept for each shooter and not patched (hostage targets etc). I just think things would flow better and take less time if we could just pull targets and put up fresh ones each time, marking relays and shooter numbers on them as they are pulled.
 
Hi Boys, One more request. We have a few American shooters coming up and one of them is bringing his M1a and has asked if there is anybody who can lend him a few 5rd M14 mags as he hasn't got any 5 rounders. He could use 4 if possible. PM me if you can set him up.

Yes, there is room for spectators.

Depending on the weather bring sun tan lotion and/or a decent rain gear. The range doesn't really have any shade or cover.

Also look at bringing the following (depending on how long you are staying):

-Lawn chair
-Water (you do NOT want to drink the range water)
-Safety/sun glasses
-lunch/snacks

yes on ear muffs, it's not too loud behind the line and they are more convienent than plugs for taking on and off. plus all the stuff Skullboy said too. if you get there when we are past 300m you'll have to wait for a cease fire to come up to the firing line (I think it's 300m that that happens). so make sure to get there early. Besides if you get there early enough you can sit in on the briefing and have a better idea of what is going to happen.
 
How late is it expected to run on Sunday?
I am working OT on Sat. so will miss that entirely.
On Sun, I will be at TMSA for the Action22 match, but if it ends early I may dart out to Vokes to watch the end of the sniper match.
I watched the Service Rifle match just over two weeks ago, and took part in the open house shoot on June 9, and would like to watch/photo the sniper one.
 
Sunday usually wraps up early. I hope to be able to shoot the whole thing and make work by 3pm. we'll see.
 
Might sound like a silly question but it's my first time shooting this thing (and yes, I am, in fact, coming this year):
What do you guys recommend bringing for the range? I'll have all the basics in my dragbag like water, snacks, ammo, earmuffs, glasses, shooting mat, etc., but is there anything else that would be a good idea to bring?

well we already have the ballgag so you should be good to go.

for water I'd use a Camelback, much easier to use than bottles and you're more likely to drink regularly. rain gear, just in case. sunblock, just in case, you never know what the weather is going to do up there. One year it was hot, then rain, then hail/snow, then back to hot, all in one day.

Oh ok, thanks. The forecast is rain for a large part of the weekend, so I'll bring stuff for all weather.
This may sound sillier, but what's the best thing to wear? I won't be wearing my CF uniform and I don't really have anything much else than jeans or shorts.

No Spandex, Speedos, or Ass-less chaps.....................anything elses is pretty much ok.........:p

Well that's dissapointing...are jeans generally comfortable to shoot in? Didn't bug me much shooting at the Nanaimo Military Range, but I'm not sure how well it'll go if I'm shooting for the majority of the day.
