Sounds like S&W started listening to its customers.

I bought a used 686 a month ago...do ya think I could get in on an offer for a used range bag???:p
 
ok here is the scoop straight from the horses mouth. Initially the answer was no. Enough of us complained that the answer got changed to yes. However a bunch, more than two dozen actually, got refused by the Canadian customers. These people didn't want to pay the duty/taxes owing on them and hence were returned to S&W. As a result S&W got dinged with return shipping and in some cases got screwed by US Post and had to pay duties and taxes on their own products. Needless to say that pissed them off, and as a result the answer is now no. I am trying to work this out, but don't have a lot of faith in it working.
 
while your at it can you ask them about their new promotion for free mags? Ill pay the duty, shipping and tax as long as its less than the cost of the mags here.

Good luck, I'd like to get mine someday. At the end of the day what is the most it can cost them for some returns? The idea is supposed to be the promotion of S&W products. Spend a little now and get it back plus more in sales of product. This is business 101 and if they don't get that then what's the point?

apparently they got hammered pretty good on the returned bags, a large number of them too. Due mostly to courier companies screwing them over and charging them all the costs we often get saddled with.
 
Range Bag arrived

Picked up a Fedex parcel today and it was a S&W Magnum Range Bag (U44110). I sent in the form on May 11-07 so it took about 6 weeks.
