You need the beige coloured registration certificate that you get about 2 weeks after the approval. The buyers approval to take possession is only valid for bring it home.
Another change for the worse. - dan
Do we need to bring our ATTs (a printed copy) when we pick up a restricted? Or is the email on our phones good enough?
It’s not really an ATT. The ATT to take a new purchase home is attached to your licence on the conditions paper that came with it. I believe your referring to the ‘Transfer Notification Buyer’ that says you may take possession. I’ve always printed the ‘Transfer Notification Buyer’ and taken it along with my licence/conditions to the store or post office. Never thought about if the electronic copy of it was sufficient?
Just a quick question as to the ATTs imbedded into our license's. Say you're an Ontario resident that is not a member of a range but you use a walk in range service, do you need a discrete ATT for each time you want to go, or is the one included in our license conditions good enough, even if you're not a formal member of the range? Since you don't need to belong to an actual club in Ontario I'm under the impression that you can just go without calling the RCMP and getting an ATT since it's already included to a range you shoot at and I don't think it specifies you need a current membership card, but I might be off base here. I wanted to make sure before doing anything that might come back to bite me...
Not a change. In effect as long as I can remember.
What’s the usual wait time for an ATT now to bring to the post office? Been waiting 2 weeks for one from Quebec CFO. Thought I would reach out and see if anyone has same experience. Thanks.
RCMP Website said:Changes to automatic Authorizations to Transport restricted and prohibited firearms were brought into force on July 7, 2021. This change now requires licenced owners of registered firearms to obtain an Authorizations to Transport from the provincial or territorial Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) in order to transport a restricted or prohibited firearm to any place other than to:
A) an approved shooting club or shooting range within the owner's province of residence, or
B) to the firearm's place of storage after purchase
