they sell for cheap (20-30 bucks) these rubberized u-hooks that you bolt onto your atv rack.it comes with 2 strong rubber bands that hook onto rubber fingers to adjust for the size of the object carried.i've carried my axe on my atv with it.only caveat is if you're in heavily wooded area you could catch the barrel/stock and bend things up...

I drive a motorbike. I welded a long U-shaped bracket for the rear luggage carrier, and a smaller, separate circular ring which I fastened to the rear passenger footpeg bolt. Then, I bungee the Gunboot IV or VI in place. My wife and I both found it worked great!

Go with the Kolpin gunboot 4 or 5. I've tried the hooks, forget them!

Totally agree, insure when you mount that boot doesn't extend below you footrest area. I had one catch a stump and rip the mount, didn't harm the boot, gun or scope but I don't mind saying that my heart sure skipped a beat until I checked everything out.

If you go this route make sure you get the newest model, it comes with a soft liner inside so it is not rattling and scratching the shat out of your gun when you are moving.

See if your quad mfr sells one as an accessory. mine from Polaris is built for them by Kolpin it is custom built for my unit and mounts on and off with one lever, no holes to drill and crappy looking bolt-on parts. A bit more money than a universal fit type but slick as hell.
