ATV Recommendations

So them 20/20 water separators that were a thing of the past are a necessary thing awf the future?
Water in deezill fewl?
Owwz that going to effect warranty claims awn fruck'd up fewl pumps et all?

GOOD to know that for sure I only use Chevron 94 in my sled and quad annd outboard etc and NEVER EVER use marked fuel as the dye will plug up Fuel injectors it is horrible stuff ! RJ

I have a yamaha grizzly 660 I bought new in 2003, been a hell of a machine ,tough as nails and everything still works like it should,it has low gear with differential lock ,it will go almost anywhere .15,700 plus kms on it ,oil and filter changed every 800 kms,engine does not smoke and isn't worn out.I rust check / undercoat the frame every year and I don't think there is a bike out there that will be any better except maybe a new grizz 700 power steer model.One tough machine

I also have a 660 Grizz, newer than yours though, 2004, lol. My friends dad has a 2003 660 and he has over 10k on the clock. Great machines and I think Looky has one as well.

I've got 3 can ams, went that route due to having a local dealer.
'04 400 outlander(abused and beat to hell but just keeps on going!),
'12 650 xt (one I ride, gets worked hard, but I no longer treat it as if its a submarine),
'13 500 xt (Wifes machine, It doesn't particularly like the cold).
If it wasnt for the local dealer I would have gone Yamaha, but I have no complaints.
 
I've been doing some of the same research and checking... looking for antirust time ATV purchase as well. Will be using mine for moose hunting here in northern Sask. It's tough because there's so many differing opinions. One thing I've heard is Can-Ams are pretty much unstealable. That's not a factor for many. but where I live it's a big selling point.

Was told a 450 would be a little on the small side and 650/850 would be better choices.

The 650 has a bit more ground clearance than the smaller one if that’s a factor for you.

350-400cc is plenty for plowing, my old 400 Kodiak plowed like a champ. Have a small tractor now, which is a game changer.
 
I have a 2003 Honda foreman 450. It's been bullet proof. It's lived outside the past 3 years and is showing that now. Got it new when I lived in Northern Ontario for snow plowing, logging for firewood and hunting. Plows like a champ. Will drag a gutted moose. Put up hundreds of cords of firewood from my woodlot.

It is a no frills unit. Solid axle good for hauling but terrible for trail riding, bumpy rides and in deeper snow. It is slow. Now that I have moved my next machine will be around a 500 with independent rear suspension, yamaha, Suzuki or CanAm. My brother CanAm next door us a nice unit.
 
Looking at a Yamaha Kodiak 700 and an Arctic Cat Alterra 600. Both close to same price. Any recommendations? Be 50% farming/hunting and 50% trails
