ATV WINCH to wall outlet?

I have one mounted to the wall for that exact reason but have an old battery that I connect it to. it's just a cheap winch that goes on sale at CT and use a battery that doesn't have enough juice to start my truck. works well for lifting deer and even lift the front or back of my atv's for working on them.
I'm going to buy a new battery this summer for it for this fall.

I would think a spare 12v battery would be better way to power it then recharge the batt as needed from a 110v plug in charger. I can't think if a plug in 12v power supply that could put out the amps to run a winch, at least not one that wouldn't cost way more than a batt and charger.

If you keep an eye out 120v winchs come on sale at CT or princess auto, otherwise you need a voltage reducer or an old battery

Yer going to need a better anchor than the power cord.......me thinks.
They make 110v to 12 volt inverters, but there is some homework involved.

you will need a power converter from 110 volt to 12 volt that will produce the amps needed to power the winch so the easy way is to do what the other posters have suggested is a 12 volt battery and a god battery charger to keep battery charged

you don't need an expensive poser inverter.. just a car battery charger.. most CT's have them for a few $$$.. just get an old battery, and use that. charge it with the charger, then use the winch...

Another post for the "use a battery" method. You can pick up little wall-wart 1A battery chargers from CT from time to time for $20, leave it plugged in and on the battery to keep it topped off (I use one to keep my bike battery topped off during the winter).

Hit a garage for a used battery. They have scrap value so they won't be free (expect $20-25)

The best is 120v from princess auto when they are on sale.
I have used the 12v and battery and it workedm
120v seem to have a nice balance point when they are hung from the ceiling compared to the 12v

12v battery and a CT eliminator smart charger. They go on sale every couple months for $20, and they only charge when required.

Spend five or ten bucks on a pulley or two, use the winch on your quad. As an alternative, a small snatch block is 30 bucks, no quad or winch required.

How can i connect my ATV winch to a wall outlet to hang Meat??

I have done the same thing and use one of those booster packs right now to run it. I went to the battery experts here in town and asked for a 120 to 12 volt adapter to run it and for the amperage it's so expensive was not worth thinking about. I found a 700 amp CT booster pack sitting beside the community paint recycle bin and a fellow in town had a new battery for it for $5 so it works great now after using the 300 amp one I started with.

Bingo!

To get enough amps at 12v out of a converter, you are spending some bucks! Buy the 120v winch, or keep a spare battery and cables handy. Even a big enough battery charger to run the winch in "Starter" mode is a few dollars, and most won't run the current for more than a few seconds at a time.

I'd shop the sales and buy the winch, myself.

A battery and a charger is the best way to go.

This is the route we took. Old 12v tractor battery, charge it up good right before hunting season, usually does a fair number of animals before it needs topping up again. It's also used for hogs and one or two beefs each year.
