Auction houses and dealers

Sometimes you can get a fair deal at a auction, but remember you have to pay a buyer's fee.Poor guy or estate that has to sell has to pay a sellers fee.Auction company gets 25% or sometimes more for something they didn't have to buy or spend time sourcing .The customers come to them. What is stupid is people that come to a Gun auction and have no clue what they are bidding on.I was at a auction last year that a fellow bid up .22 long rifle to $7.00 a box(box of 50)the auctioneer looked at him and said I have 30 more boxes will you take them all and the guy said Yup!Like the old saying goes a fool and his money are soon parted!

Actually, I went to my first auction on Saturday (Bud Haynes). I came out ok on an Springfield M1 Garand with 1.5 mil serial # and VG cond bbl. Even with the fees and taxes, it came to $1155. I've seen Guy's on the EE here asking north of $1500 for M-1's in similar condition. I didn't feel I got hosed at all.

Never heard of the salty guy before. Just checked the website, Russian sks for 375,-395!!!!! Augh...ya
Also always wanted to go to the Paris auction but went online and you are able to bid already and the stuff is already at whack prices. I think there's something about auctions where people's ego and need to win get involved. I like the ee. It's like a garage sale and I will shop it everyday.
