And then I was fortunate to have this matching original DUV41 K98 offered to me:)

Thanks only to the previous owners, we were able to trace it back to a vet from the RHLI, but unknown where and how he had aquired it, whether it is a bringback or something he bought postwar, we'll never know. I know I am fortunate to have it.
And it looks good with it's matching brothers:)

Nice rifle Skirsons... what year and code?

Looks like someone buggered around with the stock, but it's pretty otherwise...

Just received a nice 1945 Remington-Rand M1911A1 from Ellwood Epps.

Also, it's not really an August purchase, but last month I got a Snider-Enfield Mk.III cavalry carbine as part of a deal I got screwed on. I ended up cannibalising a rifle to make it worth keeping, but here it is.

Here is a 8L series FNC1 dewat I bought off the EE last week.

It had a couple pleasant surprises. First, it was not OPP marked like so many of the 8Ls out there. Oddly enough it did not have the CAL inspector mark on it either. It also had the earlier one piece front sight block with non-removable sight guard ears.

The serial number seemed familiar. A quick check of Blake Stevens early book "North American FALs" showed this serial number on an invoice to some DCRA shooters back in May of 1972.

There is a photo of this rifle's older brother, 8L5011 in the book, which also is lacking the inspector marks.

Rifle needs a little cleanup in a few spots, but I am happy with it. This will be my third C1A1. I need several to display all the various scopes and accessories for these rifles.
