I am a little fuzzy on that time period, but don't think there was an ocean there at the time - everything walked across a more or less dry land "bridge", I think. Maybe some short water covered stretches. Ocean rose or "bridge" subsided creating that isolated island. Or something like that - maybe Australia moved away from Asia to become an island? So called "sea wolves" well known along Canada West Coast - they swim island to island - feed a lot on seafood caught in the edges of the salt water.

Surely they must have arrived with humans, I mean canines don't build ocean sailing craft.

I think our Aboriginies came with the Dinosaurs... an the Dogs, well they are proberly more Native than the Natives
