Just wondering if the australian arms comes with sights?I read that they come with a sight tool, wasn't sure what this meant, can anyone clarify?I've been wanting another rifle with open sights and can't really tell from the picture.

Yes, they come with iron sights, AND as per their website, they have a promotion giving away a free scope/rings with purchase.:) I wish they get their B2 match rifles in sometime soon, the standard rifle I got shoots like a house on fire (and a chrome lined barrel to boot)!

Perfect,I haven't heard anything bad about them yet, makes me want one even more! Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, the No 4 Mk IV has a very clever front sight that can rotate around the barrel so headspace is easily adjusted, plus an Enfield style flip sight at the rear. There is a removable Picatinny rail that comes with the rifle for scope mounting.
A quality rifle all around.

I heard the Canadian military were switching back to Enfields and AIA got the contract. True story.

I bought one this year, and for the money it is a precision rifle that does everything it's makers claim and more. I am glad I sold my Winchester Model 70 to buy it.

Define precise. I think those neo-retro .308 Enfields would be awesome for hunting, so long as they're more accurate than my sporterized no.1 mk.3

It shouldn't be too tough to get more accuracy from a new barrel in a calibre that has had millions spent on development than it is to get accuracy from a 70 year old former combat rifle in a calibre that was specifically designed to punch clean holes entirely through small game (living creature under 200 Lbs.)

I can attest that my AIA SMLE no. 4 bought from Marstar last year is awesome. With the scope mounted (the one included in the price), groups are close to 1 MOA at 100m (i.e. 1 inch), perfectly aligned (following a small correction with the included front sight adjustment tool). With that fact known, I removed the scope to use in on another rifle and use this rifle to practice open sight. If I don't group close to one inch, I then know what the problem is: me. I shoot PMC ammo equivalent to M80 ball (146-grain FMJ loaded to 2756 fps).

Remember the thread last week about having to choose 3 rifles and run for the woods because the SHTF? First, I would not carry three rifles into the wood unless we were three people; second, my choice, over the 20ish rifles I own would be between this SMLE and a CZ-858 (in 7,62x39)... and I would leave the scope home. Cheers.

I should add that the only bad thing about the scope/rifle package is that the rings aren't "see thru" types.....irons are useless unless you buy some other types of rings. A minor thing however, easily corrected.

John, any updates on AIA? I really enjoy shooting mine, and would consider buying the carbine if you ever get them in stock. I did not get a reply when i emailed the company, and I am interested in buying spare magazines.
