My newest find. A World War One Austrian military issued Mauser C96 marked to the 1st Bohemian Dragoons. It’s all matching and in excellent shape overall. From the little bit of research I’ve done so far there was approximately 50,000 C96 pistols sent to Austria during the war.

The only downside is it’s missing the button for the elevation slider. But seeing as it was an un-numbered part it’s not that big of a deal. I just need to find one. The usual spots seem to be out of stock at the moment, but one will turn up at some point.

This is the third C96 I’ve picked up and it is by far my best. There’s a night and day difference between a mismatched pistol and a matching one.

Uber nice, thanks for posting. I have always thought this guns where so down right gawky looking they are attractive for it.

I love them personally. Right up there with the Luger in my opinion.
Don,t get me wrong, I think they are a great looking piece, with bags of history and I respect the machining that went into making them (all before CNC machines came about, very very old school).

Haven't been able to find much info on them so far. Would you have a source?

Full name is Böhmisches Dragoner-Regiment „Kaiser Franz I.“ Nr. 1
By tradition most recruits for Dragoons were from the Czech or German speaking areas of the Austrian Empire.

Here is the internet fact page for them. There is a lot of stuff that does not come up on English google searchs but there is often
information in the root national language of the original military formation. Lists history, garrison locations and battles etc.

I can't find an English source for you but most of this is understandable to an English speaker or a translation program like google will do it!
