Here's something you don't see everyday! These are two single shot, break open, fully functional, pin fire pistols. As you see, one has engraved metal grips and the other has fake mother of pearl grips. I don't know the calibre. I saw a pair of these on one of the antique firearms forums and they were asking $600.00!!!!! I had to read it 3 times before I figured out that it was either a typo, or posted by someone totally out of touch with reality. Any idea of interest or value would be much appreciated. There's a dime for sizw comparison

"Boy, if you shoot me with dat and I find out, I put you acrost my knee and spanken hell out of you!!!":p
(an actual quote from a US Civil War soldier on seeing a S&W No 1 .22 cal pistol that another soldier carried in his shirt pocket. Seems to be appropriate for these tiny things:D)

They are called Berloque pistols. You may find some info on this forum:

Thanks much bellero! I'll check it out. Should I register these do you think?

Unless they were affected by the recent law amendment regarding blank firing pistols (I still have to read it), Berloque pistols are not considered as being firearms. I saw brand new ones for sale in a army surplus store about 5years ago. Ammo is still available but very hard to come by in Canada.

These things sold for $20 when I was a kid, and now might be worth $25. $50 with ammo!

$600? I'd suggest there is one too many zeros, and that had better be for the pair. There are tons of these out there, flea markets and garage sales turn them up regularly. Ammo was expensive even back when, so these things would have seen very little use.

I see them from time to time....they're very neat. I've even seen a revolver version, but they command a premium. It's like any other oddity I suppose, they're worth whatever a collector is willing to pay....if they're scarce, the price is reflected in that. The ammo is more scarce than the gun itself, so if there's ammo included, price could triple. A friend just bought a little Belgian 32 rimfire a couple weeks back.....$100 gun.....ammo was $300 for a box of 50.

The Xythos revolver (made by the same outfit I believe) which uses the same ammunition is even on Ebay for under $20 in a little holster, there are plenty to be had. I believe I paid at least $20 for mine when I was a kid, so maybe these aren't as well made. "Collectors kits" are offered for all kinds of stupid money, but they're a wooden box, a small number of rounds of 2mm pinfire ammunition, and one (or more) of these $20 gems. Must be one heck of a box.

Wasn't someone selling tiny BB guns like this that used a no. 11 percussion cap recently? They were also classified as not a firearm as I recall.

That's the Pedersoli, Marstar has them. They are quite a bit cheaper to operate, give you a realistic opportunity to hit something at 3 or 4 paces, but are about 10 times the size of the Berloque.
