Austrian Police SMLE

I have a sporterized 1916 No.1 mk3* made by BSA laying around that I've cleaned up a bit and shot once. Judging by the "ÖSTERR GENDARMERIE" stamp I've determined that it was at one time an Asustrian police rifle.

Can anyone tell me what this is worth, if anything?

They were issued after WW2. Since bubba chopped the forend, it's worth what any other "sportyized" Enfield is going for.

Yup - what John says.... $125 as is - maybe $300 "restored" to full wood action. Of course, with the cost of parts today, you will spend about $250 to get it back to original configuration.

Very cool, that's a good resto candidate assuming the barrel hasn't been bobbed. You won't make money on it at the moment, but you would be doing a piece of history a favour by giving it back a bit of it's dignity.
