Hi guys

I have a auto 5 in 20 gauge that when the action cycles it loads the chamber but let's the next shell slip by and spits it out on the ground. Fires and cycles just fine other than the mag capacity is cut in half. Tried different brands and doesn't matter . I'm getting tired of picking shells up off the ground. Anybody have any experience with this or a possible fix? Thanks for the help

I kind of doubt it is the problem.. but make sure the friction pieces are set correctly and that the tube is lubricated...

I really hate to tell you this joe, but there is no cure and parts are beyond obsolete..........

Send'er here and as a favor to you, heck I'll even pay the postage.
No point in frustrating yourself any further.

And just think of the great trader rating I'll leave you.

We'll lubed and correct friction rings. That's the first thing I checked. When I googled it that's seems to be the fix all for auto 5 problems. I can't find anything any where about double feeding. Mabey I should look into converting it to a double! It feeds 2 at a time good enough just have to decide on over and under or side by side

Go to page ten and look at item #17.
It is the part that sits inside the receiver and the round chamber close button
moves it.
The forward part of #17 job is to hold the next round up into the mag tube.
Something is going on with it, either bent almost straight or worn to the point
of causing the problem you have now.
I just had a look at my A-5 and watched how it moves.
Hope this helps.

Yup you are 100% correct. That the piece that moves up to block the next round in the mag. What I don't get is if it was worn or bent why does it only allow 2 out of the mag and not just dump the whole works out on the ground? It doesn't matter how many rounds are loaded it's the same every time. 1 in the chamber and 1 at my feet. When you turn it upside down with rounds loaded in the tube the rim of the shell fits in that little groove quite deep. The edge of the groove is nice and deep and not rounded off.

Hi guys I've had a mag tube for Auto 5 20ga lying around for a while now. If there`s any interest I`d photo it. It`s a silver colour with surface rust, not sure if chrome plated, or if it`s new old stock or off a gun. The threads look untouched to me. I`d ship it anywhere for $20 after you see pics and want it.
