auto-5 barrels

Am I crazy for thinking the 3" barrels do not work on pre-magnum guns?

I posted on the main forum here http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1272566-Who-to-call-looking-for-a-barrel and getting conflicting advice to what I always understood.

Hope someone here knows the correct answer.

Okay, that's what I thought. Man, it grinds my gears when people spout off as experts when they are dead wrong. What if I didn't know better and went and bought a 3" barrel? I'd be out 200 bucks minimum.
