Hey all,

I've got a Browning Auto 5 light 12 and I'm wondering if I can put buckshot and slugs through it.
I know not to use steel shot because the barrels aren't meant for it, but I've heard some yes and some no in regards to buckshot or slugs because of the "light". So just seeking some clarification.

Thanks

This may help I.D. yer fixed choke.

You may also google friction ring setting for your A-5 as well.
Make sure they are setup correctly before you run into function issues.

Your Light Twelve will have a 2 3/4" chamber, so you're limited to that. Also check you choke, as I wouldn't recommend shooting either slugs or buckshot through a full choke. Also, as mentioned make sure your gun has all the original friction rings and that they're setup correctly for heavier loads (lots of good videos on YouTube for that).

Love the A-5’s!! Such an amazing shotgun, super quick to shoot, never would’ve believed the barrel moves that far and that fast. Wish they still made the original, not too sure about its replacement…
