auto ordnance m1 carbine

They are nice-looking carbine the only reason I haven't purchased one is the ammo is almost impossible to find where I live
But it is so damn tempting to get one anyways

The AO Carbines are not highly thought of by our Southern cousins. Real repros they ain't, apparently.
You won't find a non-restricted carbine barrel. Nobody makes 'em.
Anybody who pays that kind of money for a carbine copy is nuts in the head.

I really like mine, fit and finish is very nice, but as has been reported, there are some cycling problems. I have only fired about a dozen mags through mine, so take it for what it's worth.

I have never tried ordering ammo
I have a bad habit of buying a rifle based solely on what the co-op is caring haahaa
Which isn't very much
I got the equipment to start reloading but haven't given it a try yet maybe after my eye surgeries are finished

Funny, I remember that Co-op store. Bought a quick lunch there. I don't even remember seeing anything firearms related.

Nobody made the NR M1 in my safe? Well... I'll be.

It's just a small cabinet and there is not much of a selection at all
Ammo is a nightmare on Island
I really need to learn how to reload lol

Criterion makes 18.5x inch barrels for M1 Carbines, if you want one installed, Vulcan Gun has both the barrels and does the installation. If you have a ratty Carbine and want it to look all shiny, and be returned to you as a non-restricted, Vulcan does that too.

I have about 200 rounds through mine so far. As it breaks-in the FTF issues are slowly diminishing. Other than that it's fun to shoot!

Had one for a few months but sold it after I purchased a USGI one with the barrel replaced to NR. The AO was ok and did have a few FTF as I was breaking it in but it really seemed to depend on which mags I was using. It actually seemed to prefer the 5/30 mags over the 5/15. Fun little gun.

The James River "Rock Ola" are made on new manufacture receivers with Criterion barrels (same as Fulton's), but as far as I know the remainder of the parts are USGI so the quality should be good, as long as everything else is done right. The ones Irunguns are bringing in will be NR according to their thread.

Well you probably should try. The Tula stuff has run well in my Winchester M1 Carbine with USGI mags.

Its a rifle with ammo that is as cheap as pistol ammo. How could you not own one? LOL
