Also can you get these in Canada?

No. They're expensive reproductions(MSRP $889US). Don't think they're available up here either.
"...you can get the nonrestricted barrel..." 18" barrels only on their site.

850 us is about $300 us more then Real deal USGI m1 carbines sell for up here

plus you would need to add several hundred for export permits and

i do NOT think the U.S would approve its export since the m1 carbine is on thier NO export list....

The design of the bullet has nothing to do with it's classification. If you were correct, the P90 would be considered an assault rifle as opposed to a submachinegun/PDW. Hell if you made the FiveseveN fully automatic then by your definition it would be an 'assault rifle'. Three big features that make a firearm an 'assault' rifle are 1) Intermediate cartridge (i.e. smaller than 'full size cartridge') 2) Select fire and 3) Smaller/more compact than a 'battle rifle', though admittedly #3 is a rather archaic benchmark these days. Magazine capacity has no real classification purpose. Vietnam saw 20 round magazines for the M16's. They surely were assault rifles.

And he didn't ask about the M2 carbine, he asked about the M1 carbine. If the M1 Carbine was fully automatic, it would've truly been the first assault rifle.

The M1/M2 carbine was never intended to be a front line infantry rifle. It was intended to be a more substantial weapon than a pistol for rear echelon troops who would be overly hindered by a full-sized rifle. This is why they don't count as assault rifles.

I think you've put too much stock in the word 'assault'. The NAME is just propaganda from the big cheese Hitler himself.

"...They surely were assault rifles..." Nope. Battle rifle. Mag capacity has nothing to do with it. The StG 44 and the AK47 are the only "assault rifles" ever made. Select fire, mag fed using the same calibre as the PBI rifle in a smaller case.
The original specs for the M1 Carbine called for select fire. That was dropped.
"...why is the Sturmwherger..." Sturmgewehr, but we'll let that one go. It was literally a brand new concept. Used an 8mm bullet, in a smaller case and it was select fire. FA and semi-auto. Hitler knew nothing about it until the Eastern Front troopies started asking for more of 'em. http://www.secondworldwarhistory.com/stg44.asp
