Autoloader suggestion - for upland.

The Benelli "Ultra Light" should fill the bill for you. At 6 lbs with a 24" barrel it is a pure pleasure to carry, and the shim set provided takes care of drop and cast for most. Despite the light weight, balance is between the hands and it does swing smoothly. At around $ 1500 it's not cheap, but then again, the good things in life seldom are. Don't count it out until you pick one up and give it an "imaginary swing" at covey of huns exploding out of the stubble ! :D

Well, here's what I've done. After careful considerations and talking to a fellow here in HR. I didn't buy a new gun....but I did buy a new Wingmaster barrel for my Wingmaster. This one is 26" long with the RemChokes. The barrel that I had on the Wingmaster was 30" full choke. I'll try some clays on the weekend. The gun actually fits me well, but we'll see how it goes.:)

I didn't buy a new gun....

You're supposed to look for reasons to buy a new gun, not make do with an existing one. You had come so far and all for naught. We're all very dissapointed.

You won't be disappointed with a Remington 11-87. They just work, no changing anything or making adjustments for different loads. Put the shell in the gun and pull the trigger. It is also one of the most common trap/skeet guns in Canada so parts (not that you will need them) are easily available.

Ok, I see your point. Alright, so I didn't buy a new shotie, but I just bought a pre-64 M70 Featherweight in .257 Roberts....:D

That'll work!

Pheeeww. and here I figured I might as well get tarred and feathered for not buying the shotie, thanks for letting me off the hook guys. Range report with the new barrel:

Went out to my neighbour's granary, which is bountiful with pigeons. Six birds outta seven on the wing, I woulda never done that before. I'm happy. :D But, I should not forget to thank everyone for the great advise, even if some were waaayyyy out there, price wise.

Not really. A pre-64 Model 70 Featherweight in 275 Roberts washes away those sins.

But you might get tarred and feathered for using the term "shottie." ;) :)

A tad late, but from my experience with mid grade semi autos, the nicest I have ever used or owned was an Ithaca XL 900 SKB.
They are not very epensive to pick up now. When I bought my first one they were a lot more.
