So I posted a WTB ad in the EE and have got some welcome advice but I feel that my question may not be reaching everyone that might be in the know. So, I'm going to ask here as well unless the mods have an issue with it, in which case, please delete. No foul intended, just running short on time.

So here it is, I'm looking for a dealer that has annealers here in Canada that uses a timed / mechanical way of feeding brass through flame.
I know that Mystic can order one for me.
I know that X-reload carries them but is out of stock for approximately a month.
Grizzly Gunworks has put production of theirs on hold for 6 months.

I will order direct out of the U.S. if I'm unable to get a lead on anything here but time is a bit of an issue. It's not the end of the world if I can't get my hands on it fast but I sure would like to have my match brass annealed and in top shape for mid July's FTR match here.

So if you have a lgs, or know of one, that carries any of the different brands out there, please post it up here or send me a PM if you'd rather keep your source a secret.

Have you considered Grizzly Gun works in Hamilton ON? They carry one but I don't know if it is in stock.

I did try Jeff at Grizzly. His reply to my email was that he is so busy with muzzle brakes that he has put the annealer on hold for the next 6 months.

Looks like you did a pretty nice job there! I bet you could produce a couple of them and sell them.

I've put together but never fully finished two different set ups. I've given both to another fellow shooter to see if he wanted to complete them. One uses flame only adjustment and the other was to be the heated salt bath with guesstimated timing.

I'd really like to get a tried a true set up that I can just set up and run.
 
Not a long-term solution, but maybe someone who has an automated annealer could be convinced ($$/beer) to anneal them for you? Finding someone nearby would be the best case scenario, but even if you had to ship them there/back there's probably still time. It's a win-win in terms of getting your brass done in time for the competition, AND it would allow you the time to order the annealer you really want from a Canadian dealer (gotta support 'em or we could lose 'em)...

Funny you should mention that! I did receive an offer from someone not to far from me to let me use his annealer! This is a definite relief for the immediate future but I'm still on the hunt for one of my own sooner than later.

Truthfully this will be my first real go at annealing. Previously I was shooting only steel targets at distance and my 6mmSLR ate through the first batch of brass in 4 firings. I did notice that the rifle seemed to shoot best when the brass was new with more consistent neck tension.

With this being a FTR rig and using Winchester brass, I wanted to do it as soon as possible to give me the best chance of scoring well. Once I have my own unit, I plan on running it through the annealer every 1-2 firings as it doesn't look like it will take much time once set up.
 
Not worth the money unless you're reloading commercially.
Annealing is not required every 1-2 firings or on any kind of systematic basis. It's only done when you get one crack case mouth/neck.

By the time any case mouths are cracking, your neck tension variance has likely been through the roof for some time.
 
Who is this guy why on earth would you wait until they Crack, get off the pipe. I have been doing the socket and drill method but would by a annealing machine if I was doing comps and might even buy one anyways even by hand there is a improvement.
 
Sunray collects posts. He is closing in on 23K, and yet he really doesn't ever have a true CONVERSATION with anyone.
He just does drive-by posts, sometimes correct, sometimes not...
 
I am an F open shooter. Although not needed, I anneal after each firing. For me it ensures consistent neck tension. I use a Bench Source which I purchased from the US, and love it, simple to use,
but you now can get them from X Reload in Montreal
 
Bench Source on its way. More than I wanted to spend but the only one I could find at the right time ready to ship. I'm looking forward to its arrival.
