I am seriously considering turning my Ballisti-Cast Mk IV (manual 2 block casting machine) into one that is automated. My first thoughts are to have an electric motor as input with a Boston gear reducer (100 to1) to power the Mk IV. I will need to reduce the speed even more with a pair of spur gears.
That low speed will allow me to make the pour into the blocks. I may even have to install a "cutoff" switch in the power cord.

I am posting this, as I am looking for assistance in this area. Has anyone done anything similar? I have reached the age where repetitive actions are causing some problems in my right shoulder. Any info. would be appreciated.

Not the answer you'll want, but the obvious one is to simply upgrade to a Magna Eng machine.

I believe you can run them with less than a full set of molds, so if cost is a factor you may be able to use just your existing dies for the moment.

If you do get one, give some thought to getting a set of OO buck molds. Being able to sell hard cast OO Buck made on a machine you can set up and simply watch ought to be a decent profit maker. No sizing or lube required.

See what happens when you leave Hamilton....!

Of course you must realize that leaving the greater Hamilton-Wentworth area was a big mistake. Huge really.
Lost your customer base, went into rube-land and all those hillbilly's are taxing to say the least.
Cutting of your most valuable and loyal customers was tragic for them and you, and the product void has become a veritable quagmire of depression.
Specialty bullet product losses have created a wasteland of hopelessness.
A once profitable and viable relationship has become a void. A once thriving business has transformed into a doomed dead end, with only the view of a walnut coffin that awaits the end of production.
Come back, come back I implore you. Resist destruction! Come back home to the warm and safe embrace of your loyal customers who love and adore you.
Come back and warm up the moulds that satisfy and satiate those who adore and appreciate your efforts. Shake off the feudal and heavy hand of those who are holding you back.
I implore you. I am the Hatman1793.
