I felt very covetous of one of these "new" Lugers when I handled one in Alan Lever's Los shop in the mid 1970s, but with a young family it was out of my range (about 365 dollars as I recall). I know one popped up a couple of months back on EE, I dithered for five minutes since the price was about $1200 but when I went back the listing had disappeared. So, my question: anyone have or know of one of these that is available? Six inch barrel but irrelevant as to whether it is .30Luger or 9mmP. As an old bullseye shooter I would really like one of the 5inch bull barrelled and adjustable sighted versions but I seriously doubt any ever made it to Canada, or even the US. So, any info?

cheers. Dr Jim

The target versions are exceedingly rare it seems. Your best bet would be looking at US auction sites and trying to import. Lugers go for much less in the US than they do in Canada.

I bypassed the whole thing by having a friend buy a Prohib Luger for me and I made a custom barrel for it in his machineshop. Fun gun, but not very practical, and the sights are tiny.

I'm not interested in building another gun, and the only example of the Target version that I've seen a photo of was up on eGun, and sold for over 3000 Euros. Really there have to be some of the early 1970s production somewhere in Canada, please?

cheers Dr Jim

Most were made in 6 inch and a few were made in 4 inch. The 6 inch 9mm were standard. They didn't make all that many. Interamericana
then went into limited production models like the carbine model. I have a pair of those.

Actually if you google the Interarms Mauser Luger you find a whole thread on The High Road about them. They were in production from 1969to the mid 1980s, and sold through 1999. Quite substantial numbers were produced both in the straight back 1900 Swiss style with a grip safety, and later in the P08 style. I have a liking for the .30 Luger as I have used that cartridge for fixed barrel 1911 target guns in the past, and recently did up a barrel for my S&W M39 in that calibre. Still after 40 years of bullseye I figure I deserve a toy and think that a Mauser Luger would fill that niche nicely.

Yes, teknition, a fine specimen, but listings have been all over the place between 999and 2195 in the past few months, I even found a South Carolina gun shop offering one at 699. Still hoping to find one in Canada at a reasonable price.

cheers
