Availability of 9mm Long?

IS there any regular commercial manufacture 9mm Browning Long ammunition around? I don't often see any, and I get the feeling its a big zero in that area, but thought I would ask.
 
Here is what I found on a search. 9mm long & 9mm Largo look to be the same:

9mm Largo
Bullet Diameter:.355
Neck Diameter: .379
Base Diameter: .390
Rim Diameter: .392
Case Length: 0.91
Cartridge Length: 1.32

9mm Bayard Long (pg. 234, 7th ed.)
"The cartridge is quite similar to the 38 ACP, but longer. The Astra Model 400 is designed for the 9mm Bayard and will handle the 38 ACP without any adjustment..."
(ED: 9mm Bayard Long is another name for 9mm Largo. The comment about Astra 400s is not entirely true however. Only some of the Astra 400s have the 'compromise' breech face that will accept the semi-rimmed .38 ACP)

I've seen a few boxes around at the gunshows and online.
I picked up one box a couple of months ago.
It's sick when you check the Sarco/Samco site(can't remember which one it is) and you see they have pallets of the stuff.
 
9mm Browning Long is not something that you are going to find very easily. Its not 9mm Largo, or 9mm Bergmann Bayard.
.38 Super/.38ACP brass is used to make handloads. If the semi-rimmed case fits the breechface of the pistol, it will not be necessary make alterations. Trim to length, and the .38 Super cases will work fine. DO NOT try to fire fire .38 Super ammunition in a 9mm Browning Long pistol; the 1903 FNs and 1907 Husqvarnas are blowback, and CANNOT handle Super pressures.

I can get some 9 mm Browning Long for $25 a box of 50 (free shipping if you take the whole case). The last time at the gun show only one vendor had it (only one box) selling it for $50.

Its one of those 1907 Huskies I want. Which round is semi-rimmed? 9mm Brow Long, or the 38's?

How many rounds in a case guess?
 
Both are. Just make sure that the Supers will fit the breech face. The cases are very similar, but not intended to be identical.
 
Have you tried Ellwood Epps in Orillia? I don't know if they have it, but they have access to Old Western Scrounger in the U.S. who often stocks it.
 
Thanks guys, will check 'er out. I have bought a couple other handguns over the last couple years which have questionable ammo supplies and I have now made the committment not to do so anymore without 'something' to shoot or reload. I'm not what you would call an 'advanced' reloader, so some things are still out of my experience right now.

1907 Hasquvarna (not sure if I spell it right, but I have one) shoots 9 mm Browning Long, same as 1903 Browning. Case is 1000 rounds, boxer primed, nice brass, standard 115 grain RN jacketed bullet. :pirate:

It will last you forever if you reload.

PS. 9 Browning Long is 9x20mm, Largo and rest is 9x23mm.... It would not feed or blow up. You will have a better luck with 9x19mm (aka 9 mm Luger), but it will crack ruin your extractor fast...

To make 9mm Browning Long from .38 Super case, you must select cases with a .402-3" rim. R-P & W-W work well shortened to .80". If your cases have a rim size similar to 9mm Parabellum, cases will drop into the chamber of the Husky 1907. Its a PITA making cases!
 
My copy of Cartridges Of The World lists the following for the

9mm Browning Long. Colt ACP Super Auto

Bullet Diameter: .355 .358
Neck Diameter: .376 .382
Base Diameter: .384 .383
Rim Diameter: .404 .405
Case Length: .80 .90
Cartridge Length: 1.10 1.28

I tried a factory 38 Super in the barrel of my 1907. Seemed to fit fine. The case sticks out about .070". Trimming .1" off and loading a .355 bullet should would work just fine.
