Availability of Bullets

I don't have any leads but will make a comment. At least the shortage is due to demand and not lack of same. May not get my bullets for a while but it's nice to know it's more popular than ever.

This is the very reason you hoard components and powder throughout your life. When they are available buy lots.

Hornady has components coming threw regularly. But 350xtp for my 500 cost 82.00 tax in WTF..
even 500ae bullets are 70.00 a box..

In the past I thought 52.00 was steep..
Will definently be looking at campro or casting my own, with a friend.
Saw my first box of 4o cal with week.. been a while

It is not a time to be picky.

Last year at this time we were hoping it might be better in a year. A year later we're still hoping it might be better in a year.

I know where there is a healthy supply of Speer HotCor 140gr 6.5 bullets (have to buy them in store). PM me - I might be able to help.

They are still making bullets? Surprising, don't see them on the shelf much...

I'm still flush with 6.5 bullets... actually I bought about 500 129gr SP Interlocks for the hunting x55 but it doesn't group them to my satisfaction. If I can't find a decent load for them all the 6.5 Slobbermore fanboys will be depositing their drool at my feet for them. :p :stirthepot2: I'd rather trade them for 140gr Interlocks or something around that weight (SSTs, Scenars) than sell them... Even some H4831sc.

A friend moved a bunch of bullets in a box, most of which I could use: but I have two boxes of Nosler/Winchester Ballistic Silvertips 200gr/338 that I will probably never use... didn't care at the time I bought them as they are something that can be traded. Want a 338 but I would be using 250gr or heavier if that ever materializes.

That is why I have used the KISS method.

.223, 6PPC, 30-30, 243 and 30-06.

Almost what I need for powders and bullets works in the same calibers.

223 and PPC same powders
243 and 30-30 same powders
30-30 and 30-06 same bullets

I may ask to be cremated with what never gets used.

Haha and your pissed off when people don’t respond to your posts with relevant information…..

Yep, I will definitely not use up my "stash" before I die. :) A lot of my bullets are decent offerings as well. [Accubonds, Partitions, A-Frames, Scirocco IIs, Interbonds,
Hunting Ballistic Tips, Norma Oryx, Dual Cores and Alaskas....etc.] Dave.

My Mom taught me that if I didn't have anything positive to say...

In summary, buy what you can. Deer aren't terminators - load up what you have and shoot deer (when legal of course), steel targets, paper, etc. Most mid to high end projectile production is being allocated to ammo manufacturers. With explosion in money supply, impacted supply chains and general global instability - don't expect prices to go down. If supply improves and prices do happen to decrease - you know what to do. The search continues for 143gr Hornady ELD-X's and 140gr Nosler Accubond's in 6.5.
