So I went and bought the .45 colt lever action from a friend for a good price. So I'm back on the .45 colt revolver. Any other Double action models I should be looking at?? I want something in the 700-1000 mark used is fine

...redhawk soooo nice

Love the unfluted cylinder and satin finish. Where did you get the pic? I didn't see this style on the Ruger website.

EDIT: I found it on the Large Frame picture thread of a Handguns forum on The Highroad. To quote the owner (Kurt C):
This is what happens when Hamilton Bowen does his magic. It started as a standard .45 colt 4" model. He fitted a .454 Casull unfluted cylinder, installed the Weigand interchangeable front sight along with his own Rough Country rear, tuned the action, round butted the grip frame and gave the whole thing a satin finish.

Darn, that IS nice! (And I bet Hamilton Bowen charged accordingly!)

25's or 625's will show up at some point on the EE. Just be patient and remember that you've commited to a specific caliber and now it's time to begin the hunt for guns to shoot them with.

In the meantime there's no lack of really nice single action revolvers to get you going. A Ruger Blackhawk will allow you to play with the entire range of loadings including some "Ruger only" recipes. THAT should keep you from boredom.... :D

Well to update. I had a member of the club I'm at call me and tell me he had the 357 AND the .45 long colt convertible. He told me to buy some ammo and he would meet me so I could try them both. I'm sold on the .45 I LOVED the feeling of firing that caliber. I can't believe how magnificent these handguns were for the price
