Availability of Remington 40x in .22

I have been thinking hard about getting one of these, are they readily available?

Unfortunately no. These were one of the best factory made .22's ever made along with the Winchester 52 and maybe the anschutz 54 but they are becomng increacingly difficult to find. Remington stopped making them years ago so if you do find one it is going to be used and a few dollars - but in my mind well worth it. Best luck might be to try the equipment exchange - I haven't seen any in there for quite some time but a WTB add might yield you some results.

BTW: Your Jay Burk's buddy right? He mentioned your user name last time he was shooting with me...I am his brother in law.
