Here is a thread I started about a year ago. Asking for help finding good dollar value SxS’s. Unfortunately life decided to do a slight detour on me and spare $$ has been slim. But I’m still looking, reading, learning.

In fact if a guys just looking for a working SxS the market is fairly broad and there are comparatively good bargains out there. Especially when you think of what some of the older base model guns would cost to produce today and therefore sell for.

^Great advice and linked thread. Thank you.

I envision a nicely stocked 20g or 28g for fair-weather upland; mostly sharptail and Huns which are abundant here in SK. I also envision having a GSP to hunt over and loads of free time to just wander the fields.

The reality is I move frequently so SK is temporary and fewer guns is easier, have a mixed-breed dog who’s useful only for laying on the couch, retrieving food dropped under the table, and entertaining my children, and my free-time is limited.

Lots of time to sort through it all and research specifics. I do my best to be a buy-once cry-once type consumer so cost is secondary. I’ll start with the books mentioned in the other thread. In the meantime the pictures thread will keep my interest as I trudge on with my gas-guns.

Down to 2 now, had dozens for a while addicted to buying English Doubles of all makes and price range.

Now down to my dad's old Gitti which I don't use because it's heavy and a great old Thomas Bland and Son made in 1912.
About 5 years ago I found myself only carrying the Bland for Grouse so sold the rest. It's fits like it was made for me.

JimmyJazz, that is one fine shotgun. When they fit like made for you it's magical.

Thanks Londonshooter you are so right.
Back n the 90's when Stuart Newby lived in Eastern Ontario I spent a small fortune with him.
He found me some great guns but none fit like this Bland, it will be mine till I can't use it any longer.
