This just arrived today from Quebec (thanks, Jacques!). I bought her sight unseen. Jacques told me he had a 1945 dated stock on a 1941 Tula and he said it was pristine and he was not kidding! I wish I had a better camera because this stock looks even ###ier in person!

But, of course, the rest of her is a 1941 Tula:

She is by far the ###iest SVT-40 I have in my collection now and...
...I consider this to be half a '45 ;)

I'm not sure what year they discontinued the AVT but it was either '43 or '44 - we know when they did that they had a ton of extra stocks left over. I'm thinking they might've all had the A stamped in them first and then the date stamped into them later when they were actually assembled onto an SVT-40. I have another AVT stock that's stamped with the date 1944 and the Tula star and arrow above it, so that theory makes sense to me but if anyone else would like to chime in....?
