Im just sharing this with you guys as i have no friends nor family that care at all about lee enfields lol Or would even know why this is a cool find
Today started with a guy at work offering me a rusty win94 pre 64 in 30-30 for 150$ so i said sure ill buy that, as i was getting it he had another win94 pre 64 in 30-30 same condition there so i asked how much for that one. he said 200$. so for $350 i bought 2 win94's in 30-30
guy that wheels and deals guns down the road caught wind of this and knows of my love for Lee Enfields, and offered to trade the better condition one for "2 3oh3's". i said ill stop by on my way home to take a look. seen them they looked good and well worth the $200 i paid for the win94 and made the trade
got them home and checked out the scopes and mounts, took one of the makeshift 5 round mags out and looked it over then removed the second mag and instantly had a feeling I've seen one of these before.
sure enough its a LEC mag, just like the one i have in my LEC but the chain loop has been removed,(easy fit)
so now im the proud owner of 2 LEC mags, I' going to have to build a rifle around it, probably a LMC.
oddly enough i got my other lec mag in a No4 sporter i bought 3 years ago about 5 km down the road from this one
as for the 2 lee enfields, im going to rebarrel the light colored one to 44-40 with this barrel i have sitting here and change the stock to a darker one.
not sure what ill do with the other, maybe rebarrel it to som,ething interesting.
i currently have LE and LM's sporters chambered in 22LF, 25-20win, 7.62x25, 6.5x55, 303br, 38-40win and 410 shotgun
