Axe/Hawk Heads that fit long sledge hammer handles. You can easily trim wood handle to make it to your desired length, either long for walking axe or short for hawk style


Axe/Hawk Head. Eye of the axe is sized for Canadian size replacement sledge hammer handle (Same size as this product from Canadian Tire product code #057-4222-4) Drop-forged 1055 carbon steel head with sharp edge for cutting and soft steel body for absorbing impact when thrown. Edge Hardness HRC 53-56. Axe/Hawk heads are new/old stock made in Slovakia in 2012

They are from the same shop when they existed. This one were made for a customer that used them for marking trees and other small jobs. 10 years ago they ordered big load from me. When he closed their business in 2022 I took what they had left over that was unused still in my original boxes. They are made bit stronger then the other axes that we sold since they were made to be used for bit of chopping and hammering

That looks nice. Did you make the handle from scratch? What wood?

I got one of the Canadian tire replacement handles that are recommended. Needed a little work to get it fit on there

Yes I did... However, I don't know for sure what kind of wood it is exactly.

Years ago, I salvaged a few shippingt crates coming out of Japan and Malaysia. I suspected the wood to be "Meranti" or "Karpur"...

It's a red wood and plenty strong for all I figured out.

The handle as pictured is not dyed or stained. I've oiled it with tung nut oil...
