Axor MF-2

So I've tried a few different things to get er to cycle and fire correct. I do believe I've narrowed it down to the O-ring. However the shotgun gave me nothing but grief with the size 10 O-ring. I facebook messaged Axor Arms. Looks like it's not a size 10, it's a 16-2mm. SO now that I have this info, I'll source a bunch out and try it. They told me North Sylva was sent a bunch, but I didn't buy the gun there, and won't pay for shipping. Someone in Edmonton must have that metric size!

Try an auto parts store, they usually have a box of imperial and a box of metric O-rings. Most cars are metric nowadays.

Today I went & picked up 25 0-rings (min order was $10) from Fluid Seal. After trying to comprehend what Axor told me as to where the o-ring sits, and now having the correct size, the light bulb has come on, & it fit perfect right in a groove in front of the ports on the gas block. I cleaned the piston up really well and now to try it again. When I installed the size 10, I didn't put it inside the groove like I mentioned rather right in front of the ports, which demolished the o-ring on the first couple shots I figure. I'm persistent and once I get er 100% I'll post up pictures of where it all goes for others with the same shogun. Come hell or high water, I'll figure it out! lol. I have a hog hunt booked for this March and want to bring this shotgun with me!!!!

I just had mine delivered. I broke it down as per the included instructions to inspect and clean it. Instructions seemed clear but I did not know(nor was it stated) that the cover on the front of the hand guard just popped off. When I released the hand guard............two nice scratches from the cover down opposite sides of the barrel. I also did not like the fact that the door buster flash suppressor is two pieces. I found that out the hard way when i tightened it by hand and only the front piece unscrewed. Kind of a pain in the ass to get that choke out after. The first insertion of a magazine(unloaded and tested for fit and operation) was horrible. It got jammed and I could not get it to release, I had to disassemble the lower and upper to get it out. Once out I cleaned and lubed everything the mags got better to release. The sad part is I haven't even fired this yet. Terrible instructions. If it shoots well I'll learn to live with the two scratches on the barrel for the price I paid. Planning on shooting slugs only. It sure is purty though! By the way, when I cleaned it out it was pretty dirty and I had a small pile of machined filings from manufacturing and the barrel looked like it had been used but mirrored up nicely when cleaned.

I didn’t have any filings in mine. Ya the magazine has to be inserted gentle or yes, u will have to separate it. I found that out like urself. When u took yours apart, did u notice the placement of the o-ring and if it was damaged?? Hopefully not!! When mine did cycle 100% it was fun as hell! Just need it to get back on track! Hopefully I’ll get back out soon to try er out with the new o-ring!

The only o-ring i see is in the middle of the gas block on the barrel and it looks good. I'm trying it out tomorrow, I'll post results.

Well, I just got back from trying out the Axor MF-2 at the range. The gun is a beast! I had some cycling issues at the start (first two mag full i.e. 10rnds) but then all good after that. I lined up sights for 60 m target and hit the ground real early. After adjusting for windage, vertical plain all good. Adjusted front sight full down and rear sight full up to get my slug on paper and the gun still shoots about 12" too low. I managed to compensate for the ####ty sights and put many rounds into bullseye. Gun shoots great, sights suck so there's my first upgrade. I then tried 100m and umm......no. After a new optic maybe. I ran 50- 2 3/4" S+B 1 oz. special slug (1340fps) which did well, and 15- 2 3/4" 1oz. hunting rifled slug(1650 fps) and the gun absolutely loved those. The lack of kick was surprising, with my other shotgun I usually put it away after 5 hunting slugs while rubbing my shoulder. The Mf-2 kick was equivalent to my sks using the S+B slugs. Overall I am pleased with the purchase and am excited to see where this gun will go with the right upgrades/mods. The RSO at the range really liked it.

Well GOOD news! Today I finally had a chance to get out into the bush to crank off a few rounds and see if the O-Ring fixed my issue. I'm pleased to say yes it did. However, I still ran into some issues which I believe should be an easy fix. I brought 36rds of Win Xpert High Velocity Steel Shot. 3" 1 1/8oz #2. This is the same ammo I was having issues with prior with light primer strikes. All in all it ran better, but will never be shot thru this shotgun again. I had a couple light primer strikes. It wouldn't fire off a complete 5rds through MF-2 mag or cycle correct through the Derya Mag. I also brought 10rds of 3" Hevi-Shot Hog Wild with 2-.325oz zinc balls. Cycled & fired off every shell through MF-2 mag with ease! Must say I was very pleased! I as well brought a Winchester 15rd bulk pack of 3" 1oz rifled slugs, like I have previously shot through the gun. They hated the Derya Mag with a passion. I could get them to cycle & fire 4 out of 5 shots on the MF-2 mag. Every 5th shot again.... acted up and was a light primer strike.

To some this may sound like the shotgun is NO good. But I've seen improved results with finding out where to install the correct size O-Ring. So I'm going to try different ammo from now on, as well as try some 2 3/4" which I haven't tried yet as well. For ####s & giggles I'm going to take the flat followers out of the 10rd MF-2 mags & see if they fit the Derya Mags. IF so, I'll try that to see if that helps with the feeding issue of those mags. IF it doesn't, I'll just sell them. All 10rds of the Hog Wild cycled & shot perfect, so that tells me Winchester ammo maybe the issue. I'll giver a few more trys to get it 100% yet! I'm persistent.

Sounds like you're headed in the right direction! Try some federal powershok 12GA 2 3/4" 1 oz. MAXIMUM RIFLED SLUG HP with a muzzle velocity of 1610 FPS. These cycled flawlessly through my MF-2. I have seen you're videos on youtube. Nice work. Why in the hell are all the other guys in the videos shooting in the air? lol.

EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I must say all my issues from day 1 were attributed to the o-ring & ammo!!!! I took the shotgun out today with some new ammo. I purchased good ole faithful Imperial 2 3/4" #2 lead shot, Imperial 3" Steel #2 shot, Hevi-Shot 3" BB, Federal 2 3/4" Tru-Ball Slug, Remington 2 3/4" Slugger Slugs.

All 20 Imperial 3" went off without 1 issue. 19 Imperial 2 3/4 ran perfect. 1 on the 5th shot gave me a light primer strike. (I was cycling as fast as I could when it happened.). I Only fired off 5 Hevi-Shot. The second round was a ftf but the other 3 cycled perfect. All slugs went off without a hitch!

It is NOT true that the Derya Mag will work. I did try it again, and it instantly jammed up.

One Negative..... while cranking off the 3" Imperial, the top elevation sight broke right off! Polymer actually broke. The carry handle wasn't top quality, so I'll just replace the sights with something better.

After firing off 55rds out of this semi, I can say I'm happy now! It sure won't be seeing any Winchester ammo in the future!!!
