Any idea which would be better? Older AyA No.3 model or East german Suhl made Thalmann 125? Both similar prices.

How about the weight and handling? I've read that Spanish guns are lighter and German guns are more heavy for more shooting? Or is the other way around?

You say similar quality so does that mean bad or good range? Or hit or miss?

And any experience with reliability and accuracy?

I'd go aya personally. They are both reliable guns made for a price point. I've found the aya's handle better and are smoother all around but I wouldn't hesitate about either one. Go for the one that fits u best

Now if you step up a little higher in price you can look at post-war East German Merkels, JP Sauer & Sohn, and Simson.

I've read that they were all made in the Enrst Thalmann factory and were just stamped different names. Any idea about the sxs shotguns of these brands during this era?

They were all good guns. Like already mentioned, find one that fits you and has the features you want such as single or double triggers, splinter or beavertail forearm , ejectors or extractors and pistol grip or straight English stock.

It sounds like you might be comparing a couple of Tradex offerings. Whether you are or not, you should base your decision on the individual pieces, rather than asking for comparison of makes. Which has the chokes you want? Which is closest to your length of pull? Which is in better condition? That sort of thing.
