I am thinking about a mountain goat this year and I have spent quite a few hours out in the middle of no where looking at far off ridges with my spotting scope, i am looking for something relatively close to pg (withint 2-3 hours) i have been scouting 7-17 and have seen some nice looking spots really high up but not much for road access to the bottom of the mountains, anyone have any areas with dense population or any population for the 7a open season. If you have any info but dont wana give away your "secret" spot please pm me just a general area would be good, thanks.

are you really looking for a spot you can drive to goats within 3 hours of PG???? How far are you thinking you will need to walk/climb?

Welli dont mean drive right up walking and climbing is no problem me and my friends are all young i just want some reasonable road acces so im not hiking for days

fraser canyon is your best bet... little bit further out than you'd like but I think its practicle

Ashcroft / cashecreek
Spences bridge
Lytton
Lilooett

Not sure what the regs say but theres lots of animals to be found in these areas.

so im not hiking for days

Maybe not 'days' but 'day' is probabley gonna be required. Goats do not persist long where anyone who garners a fancy to tip one can get access to em in a couple hours.
Your best bet is to do lots of research on habitat requirements, trophy records etc.

If you start now you could pick an LEH for next year or get geared up for a GOS closer to PG.
